Turn sideways or upside-down PDF pages

PDF pages often end up sideways after scanning, combining documents, or exporting mixed portrait and landscape material. Rotation changes the viewing direction stored in the PDF so readers do not have to turn their device or use viewer controls every time the file opens. You can correct one page, several selected pages, or the full document.

pdfred shows page previews and lets you rotate left or right in 90-degree steps. The update runs locally in your browser and saves a new copy. The source file remains untouched, and the corrected orientation is carried with the downloaded PDF when it is opened on another device.

Why use this rotate pdf pages?

Rotate individual pages

Fix only the scans that are wrong while leaving correctly oriented pages alone.

Batch selection

Apply the same turn to several selected pages when a scanner batch shares one orientation.

Persistent correction

Save orientation in a new PDF rather than temporarily rotating the view in one app.

Browser-based privacy

The document does not need to leave your device for this page operation.

When PDF page rotation helps

Rotation is a small correction that can make a mixed document much easier to read and print.

  • Correct landscape receipts captured by a portrait scanner.
  • Turn phone-scanned pages that were saved upside down.
  • Fix wide charts inside an otherwise portrait report.
  • Standardize pages before merging several PDFs.
  • Prepare a document for full-screen presentation.
  • Correct orientation before sending a signature packet.

PDF rotation versus rotating the viewer

Most PDF viewers have a rotate-view command, but that change may last only for the current session. Editing the PDF page rotation stores the intended orientation in a new file, making the correction visible to other readers and applications.

Rotation changes direction, not page dimensions or content. A landscape page remains landscape after a quarter turn, and text is not reflowed. If the page needs a different crop or paper size, a more advanced page editor is required.

Tips for a reliable result

  • Rotate in 90-degree steps and check text baselines in the preview.
  • Select pages with the same orientation problem before applying a batch turn.
  • Review annotations and signatures after rotating important documents.
  • Keep the original until the corrected file opens properly elsewhere.

Yes. Select the individual page thumbnail, rotate it left or right, and leave every other page unselected before downloading the corrected PDF.

Will the output have a watermark?

No. pdfred does not place a logo, promotional page, or watermark over your converted document. The content already present in the source file is left intact whenever the selected operation allows it.
